It’s midterms exam week! You’ve been studying like crazy. Your skin has also been going crazy from all that stress. Now what do you need? You need a face mask! But why waste money on pre-made, full-of-chemicals face masks when you can make a better-for-you, easy (and yummy!) face mask at home with ingredients you probably already have right in your kitchen? That’s right, I’ll show you how to make an amazing, simple, moisturizing and anti-acne DIY Honey & Green Tea Face Mask!
I know, that sounded too much like a commercial.
But seriously, this face mask is pretty great. A while ago, I got together with my friend Alexis. We like to use different face masks, and since I got Matcha green tea and knew of this recipe, we decided to try it!
All you need is 1 bag of green tea, and 1 tbsp of honey. I recommend Matcha green tea, as it is a very fine powdered, high quality green tea. It is full of antioxidants and is anti-inflammatory, so it’s great to drink and put on yo face! However, any green tea would be fine too. For honey, the best to use is local raw, organic, unfiltered honey. Honey is also full of antioxidants, is suitable for all skin types as it is incredibly moisturizing, and acts as an anti-fungal and antibacterial agent.
Now cut the tea bag open, and mix the powder with the honey in a small cup. Note that this makes plenty for 2 faces! Then simply apply the mixture to your face with your fingers and leave it on for about 10 minutes. Be careful of it dripping though. Have a paper towel nearby! Or just lick it while it drips like I did. (Just kidding.. But not really.)
After 10 minutes, wash your face with warm water and use a soft towel to scrub everything off. This may take a while, but your face will feel like a baby’s bottom after, so everything will be okay.
