peppermint hot chocolate.

I used to love the Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix. Also the Nesquick one was pretty good. I mean, chocolate, calcium and “NO SUGAR ADDED” ?! That  must be good for you, right?



Wrong. Look at those ingredient lists! So many things you can’t pronounce and should simply not put into your body. A future informative post about all that later. 

But for now, let’s make our own healthy hot chocolate. Oh, and add peppermint. Because chocolate + peppermint = a perfect combination. Try it if you don’t believe me. ;)



  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract



  • heat a saucepan over medium heat
  • add milk, maple syrup, vanilla, peppermint, then cocoa powder
  • stir and taste to liking!

Feel free to add more maple syrup if you’d like it sweeter.

So simple, healthy, and delicious. And no need to worry about any weird ingredients or chemicals! Enjoy while wearing red lipstick (optional, but recommended).
